Hey Ron , Terry Mitchell here - your big bro mentioned your photo gallery and I must tell you they are awesome - brings back significant memories for me as well - photo's of some of the early homes through the 1950's would be terrific , hey maybe soon eh ! I delivered papers thru the ' 40's and '50's and could tell you who the residents were at the time .... well done Ron and Cheers

Ron, thanks for the visit. Bullet, I don't think in the park, but when they are young and stupid the ears get tangled into thornbush etc. and as it is soft at that stage it makes a scar. We see a lot of ellies with damaged ears. The normal damage is part of the ear, like a "V" shape missing. Regards.Arno

Hi Ron, There is a striking similarity between the Canadian and Swedish landscapes. It is certainly more than the northern latitudes may justify. I enjoyed your well componated colorful pictures. The "Alberta" gallery have always been one of my favourites.

Hi Ron, When you mounted the lS lens on a tripod, you better turn off the IS function, otherwise the tiny vibration of the IS system will reduce the sharpness of the image. I had made a test before for my friend's 70-210 IS lens, it's true. I remember that in the User's Manual of Canon's first IS lens, 75-300 USM IS , Canon suggest that if you set the lens on a tripod, don't use the IS function, but it didn't explain why. I don't know whether Canon still mention this in their latest IS lenses's manual or not. You may try it out and make extreme enlarge for the image in your pc for comparison. I have few pictures using the Moon in Special Effect gallery, when I took pic for the Moon, I didn't lock up the mirror (I forgot to do it, you just remind me !), after exposure adjustment, I focused the moon manually, then set the camera to Contiune Mode and take few shots (maybe 5 shots or more) by a cable releae, then choose the sharper one. Abbotsford Airport is not an ideal place for taking air show picture, as you know, the direction/angle for shooting is always against the Sun (backlight), next time I will try to go to the opposite side of the runway for better angle (but I may not be allowed to go to that area, I might be shot - not by camera but bullets!). There was one more guy from Alberta in the air show, Capt James for the CF-18 Hornet demo, excellent !! We are proud for our great Air Force , especially the Snowbird, so amazing !!! Take care Ron! Hi Ron, Thanks for your kind comments. For my firworks, I set my camera manually, Shutter speed at Bulb and aperture was aroung f8-f16, when I released the shutter with cable, I held a black paper card to cover the lens, and move it for about 4-10 sec exposure if the shape of firwork is ideal and beatiful, But as you know, luck is very important because you would never know the details (like brightness, shape, etc.) of each firework... You are the expert for that! I enjoy for viewing your site very much, especially the Sunset/rise gallery, wonderful and perfect ! Happy shooting ! henryhwong

Hi, Ron, Alberta is one of my favorite places. I have to admit, however, I'd never heard of your town, Wetaskiwin. I was relieved to find names of places in this gallery that I recognized. (Grin.) You have some great photos. In addition to the Canadian scenes, I especially liked the Yucatan photos and the flowers.
