Message from Joby Minor
I got into serious digital photography back in 2006 when I spent a year down at the Kennedy Space Center, FL for my job with NASA. At the time, I was a Space Shuttle Subsystem Manager for the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, Alabama. I am now a flight controller (Payload Operations Director) for the International Space Station's (ISS) Payload Operations Integration Center (POIC) at MSFC.
The Space Shuttle was a particularly interesting photo subject as the sheer size of the vehicle lends many unique and unusual photographic opportunities not usually presented by NASA PAO. My second love continues to be photographing nature and landscapes - something I try to do whenever I'm on a business trip out of town. I'm rarely caught now without a DSLR on my shoulder, just to make sure I'm ready if that ever elusive 'money shot' shows itself.
Thank you again for all the positive feedback. It was truly my honor not only taking these photographs but sharing them with you as well.
I hope you enjoy the galleries - and drop me a line. I'm interested in what you think of the pictures.
