I was born in October 1951 at Nashville General, lived and raised at 1302 Division St.. It's really interesting how it looks today. While he home is no longer there (It's a business), the tree that was in our front yard, where I raked leaves for a quarter is still there!! Every time I go to Nashville I make i a point to go and rub that tree. Thanks for sharing memories!

Hi Chip - in your MUSIC CITY BMX folder, you have a photo from the 80s of a BMX park in Hendersonville - can you
tell me what track that is? And if you have others

Thank you,

I have a picture of myself and Gerald singing into a mike when the Sands first started. I think it was probably around 1964? Gerald was playing a 12 string electric. In a moment of nastalgia thought I'd contact you when I ran across this website.

Hi Chip, I would like to know the lifeguards names at cascade plunge in the late fifties. There was a male and a female that would put on sort of a diving show, both dressed in white swimwear. Was the male or female named Jody Ellis?

Hey Chip, I grew up in N.O. and have lived in Memphis since 1980. First for college, then career, then family. Anyway, I haven't been home for Mardi Gras in 15 years. Thank You so much for sharing your experiences on the web. For me, its almost like being home again. Mo.

HI Chip, My daughter is the pic you have named Mardi Gras Waif that you have kept on your site for at least 10 years. Thanks for keeping it up there all this time. She is now 5'11" and heading to play basketball at the Battle on the Bayou in New Orleans this week. I look every Mardi Gras to see if you still have it up there.
Thanks

I saw your name from the Cascade Plunge pic ... Great stuff !!! I spent a lot of time there in the late 50's and early 60's ... What memories of that "scary" tower !! Overcame a lot of fear jumping off that thing .. :)

Hi Chip,
Totally random question...we last attended the Tennessee Renaissance Festival in 2009 when my daughter was less than a year old. We dressed her as a pirate and many folks took pictures of her and my husband (also dressed as a pirate). Was wondering if you might have been one of those folks and if so, do you still have those photos? She would have had on a metallic red head scarf, with a black velvet with red and white stripped dress.
Thanks,
Tammy Sears

Hey Chip. I have a Bryan Adams tribute band based in Chattanooga, and we are looking to play in Nashville, Knoxville, Birmingham, etc. I was hoping you might know which clubs in Nashville book tribute bands or if there is an agent in Nashville that handles such.
You can search You Tube for Reckless Adams for a couple of our videos and our promo video. Thanks for your help.

Chip

What was the name of the local tv show in the 50's that was a live sock hop show? I think I remember it was during the day on Sat and maybe on WSIX. My sister says it was channel 4 and called "Sock Hop" but I don't think that is what I'm thinking about. The show had regular dancers that showed up every week. I don't remember the emcee either. Noel Ball might have been the one but I just can't remember. Thanks. Loy.

Chip:

I found your site while looking for Nashville National Cemetery. My Dad's Navy LSM-LSMR Association is planning a Reunion in Nashville in August 2011 and I want to visit the Cemetery. The railroad tracts run through the Cemetery. I have to see this for myself. I have not looked at all your galleries, but you look like a pro!
Guest 20-Jul-2010 15:06
The only gallery I don't see is "Homes of Country Music Stars." I am quite surprised, but you have captured wonderful sites in and around Nashville.
Russell 18-Jul-2010 08:50
Greetings from New Zealand. Excellent site. I had a 63 Honda Dream CB72, a 247cc known as a 250. There was also a 305 Dream, known as a 300. They were both single carb. Early models were dry sump, but later changed to wet sump. Roller bearing mains, and needle rollers in gudgeons!
Was also a 250cc & 305cc sports machine which had twin carbs, + tube frame rather than the Dream pressed steel. Have excellent photographs of both, and could forward. The Benley models looked like a Dream, but were 125ccc & 150cc.

Wayne 21-Mar-2009 16:48
Chip, you mentioned a 150 Dream. I have a 1966 Benley. I always called it a Dream because it looks just like a miniature Dream with full fenders etc. But, once I talked to someone in a Vintage Japanese Motorcycle club and they told me it was a Benley. I have the owner's manual that came with it and I notice it never says Dream, but in a couple places there will be a phrase such as "To keep your Benley operating efficiently" etc. I will be 80 in May and I have had the bike since I was in my 40's. It is stored in my little barn where I keep my mowers and such. I would like to sell it but have no idea what it is worth. As I said I always called it a Dream, but I must have been wrong on that score. Enjoyed the pictures. You have a very nice site. Oh, in the 70's I had a '76 Gold Wing, Then a second one, an '80 and I adapted an automotive cruise control with plenty of safety features to it. It worked like a charm and was still working when I sold it. Wayne

Thanks for posting the photos of The Fabulous Fairlanes at the gig 2/21/09. Your entire site is a "trip", Chip! Really enjoyed the combos from 50s-70s, plus other great Nashville history items. Class act!
Robert Kinsall 06-Dec-2008 21:42
I can't believe I spent the entire day looking at your websight and noticed that there is a lot of History that I remember from all of my musician friends to all the great places that we used to hang out at when we were young. Have you seen any pictures of Pine Springs Resort from back in the 60s to 1970. I was a lifeguard there and met my wife of 37 years there too. I believe Gary Allen (1st Drummer for Charlie Daniels) parents owned the man made lake and outdoor pavillion.

WOuld you mind if I took one of the photos and just posted it on a facebook group for Hendersonville, TN??

I have tried several times to shoot the Gates of Percy Warner Park. Unfortunately, it is now a popular walking area and there are always 20-30 cars parked in the drive.

Thanks for your comment in my nightime gallery. I have some more images from Nashville that I took during a short trip this year that you may be interested in. Excuse my gross misspelling of Nasvhille in one of the panoramas. You've got some interesting locations shown here -- I'd especially like to see the new version of the old 50's picture of "Percy..." if you ever get the chance. Did you take the Cash pictures after his death?
Thanks again and keep up the images.
